The Need For Weed

Nothing pisses me off more than wasted time. Since my diagnosis in 2005 with congestive heart failure, time is alot more important to me than it was prior to that July day. So tonight as I sat and spent well over an hour composing tonight's blog entry, one that I was quite pleased with, I was livid when a computer malfunction wiped out all the words and work. Had I been smart enough to be penning my entries in a Word Document it would have been no problem. But did I ever say I was that smart? So the lengthy and eloquently worded blog posting you and I were both hoping for is now in the abyss of lost thoughts and forgotten ideas. So I am going to save myself some time by being a wee bit clinical here tonight, with the hope of returning to my customarily personable writing style.

Tasks Completed today: Integration of Facebook and Twitter to Ping.Fm along with MySpace. All of this in a continuing effort to establish the very same kind of "netroots" effort so successfully deployed and executed by the Obama Campaign in 2008. We are adding more of these "touchpoints" as Red calls them in the coming days. A lot goes into it as you may well know.

Also made contact with the organizers at HempFest.org to talk about possibly speaking at the 2009 Seattle Hempfest this August. Invitations go out on April 1st. If you would like to help, please contact the folks at Hempfest.org and let them know you want to hear Doc Smith speaking at the festival.

Reached out to Bill Maher of HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" to inquire about the possibility of this author sitting on an upcoming panel with him to discuss legalization of cannabis hemp on the show. Here's hoping.

Also today; I met with my friend Ron from "Slingin Ink" here in Clarksville, Tennessee. This coming Monday at 4PM, Ron will apply his artistic skills to applying my newest tattoo commemorating the book and the upcoming "High Hopes 2009" national motorcycle tour. Stoked about this new ink! Thanks Ron!

Finally; I have begun developing an idea for filming something of a documentary as I travel this year. At every stop and waypoint I will be talking with every Joe the Plumber and Jane the Pediatrician I can find to discuss two issues. Our nation's current economic catastrophe and new cannabis legislation. This administration may or may not choose to listen to one American. Let's see how many it takes to make them wake up. So now that I have at least met my responsibility of keeping you all informed as to the day;s activities in the Yes We CAnnabis movement, I look forward to sharing with you again tomorrow night, when perhaps my mood will allow me to return to my usual mindset. Hey! Pass me that joint!

Until Next Time...
Tell Everyone there I said "HIGH!"
